apparently Hinekein designed a squared off bottle designed for exactly this purpose. The bottom pushed inwards like a wine bottle's, so you could nest the short neck inside of it. The idea was that glass and air make excellent insulators, and if you had enough bottles, you could just cement them together to build homes for the poor.
