Literary Crimes

From The Believer's 2009 Art Issue- Barbara Anderson was asked to create forensic sketches of eight literary criminals.

Raskolnikov, from Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment.

"He was, by the way, exceptionally handsome, above the average in height, slim, well-built, with beautiful dark eyes and dark brown hair … his face was pale and distorted."






Judge Holden, from Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian.

Each month or so, a new issue of "i left this here for you to read" is released. They are left in public places (such on park benches, on buses, in airports and dentists' offices...) for anyone to take--free of charge.

Currently only distributed in Boston, New York, Richmond, and LA. Only 50 copies of each issue are printed, with no reprints of past issues.
